How Sleep Unlimited collects, uses and protects your personal information – and the choices you have.
Last updated: October 2026
Sleep Unlimited Ltd provides sleep assessments, training and workplace sleep programmes. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Sleep Unlimited Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 07779445) with its registered office at 4 Summerhill, Shotley Bridge, Consett, County Durham DH8 0NQ. We are the data controller for the personal information we collect through this website and when you use our services, and we are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (registration number ZA147246).
If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your information, please email info@sleepunlimited.co.uk or write to us at Sleep Unlimited, PO Box 570, Gateshead NE8 9GF.
Information you give us – for example your name, email address, phone number, organisation and the details you include when you complete an enquiry form, book a course, request a download or contact us by email or phone.
Information about your health and sleep – if you use our assessment or iSleep® services, we will collect information about your sleep and health so that we can provide that service. This is “special category” data and we treat it with extra care (see below).
Information collected automatically – like most websites, our site records technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. Some of this is collected using cookies – see our Cookie Policy.
We use your information to respond to your enquiry; to provide and manage the services, training or assessments you have asked for; to send you information you have requested; to keep records for legal, insurance and professional purposes; and to keep our website secure and working properly.
We will only send you marketing emails if you have agreed to receive them, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) we must have a lawful basis for using your personal information. Depending on the circumstances we rely on: performing a contract with you or taking steps at your request before entering into one; our legitimate interests in running and improving our business, where these are not outweighed by your rights; complying with our legal obligations; and your consent, where we have asked for it.
Where we process health information, we do so for the purposes of providing health care and assessment, under the duty of confidentiality that applies to our clinicians, or with your explicit consent.
Health information is only accessed by the clinicians and staff who need it to provide your service. We will not share it with anyone else without your consent, unless we are required to by law or there is a serious risk of harm.
If you have been referred to us by a third party – such as a case manager, solicitor, employer or insurer – we will explain at the start what information will be shared with them, for example a report of our assessment.
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where necessary with trusted service providers who help us run our business (for example website hosting, email, IT and secure storage providers), professional advisers, and – where relevant to your service – the organisation that referred you or commissioned the work.
Our service providers act on our instructions and must keep your information secure. Where any provider stores information outside the UK, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place as required by UK law.
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described above. Enquiries that do not lead to further contact are normally deleted within two years. Clinical and assessment records are kept for the periods recommended for health records and to meet our professional, legal and insurance obligations, after which they are securely destroyed.
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including secure systems, access controls and confidentiality obligations for everyone who works with us. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, so please avoid including detailed health information in website forms or ordinary email.
You have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you; to ask us to correct anything that is wrong or incomplete; to ask us to delete your information or restrict how we use it; to object to our use of your information, including for direct marketing; to ask us to transfer your information to another organisation; and to withdraw your consent at any time where we rely on it.
To make a request, contact us at info@sleepunlimited.co.uk. We will respond within one month. There is normally no charge.
Our website uses a small number of cookies. Please see our Cookie Policy for details of what they are and how to control them.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so that we can try to put things right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated shown at the top.
